First off, I have to say that the dinner party went much better than anticipated though the supply of alcohol for the adults was rather depleted. The bartender that we hired for the evening was not very happy about that... then again, neither was I.
The place looked absolutely beautiful at the beginning of the night. There were ice sculptures of all the houses that were lit up from underneath. Aurora and Ariel worked on those for a week. They even went out to buy new tables so that they would light up properly.
Jezebelle, Jasmine, Sarah and Melanie picked wildflowers to make bouquets which they placed on all the tables... all over the house. It wouldn't have been so bad if the bouquets weren't so large but half the tables have disappeared under them.
There were a lot of chocolates as Esmerelda is still on the chocolatier course. Chocolate flowers, chocolate covered fruits, chocolate placeholders, there was even a chocolate fountain. Now, the chocolate fountain was very interesting and there were more than a few people trying to drink straight from the chocolate fountain but we managed to keep it people free, for the most part.
Of course we also had the normal, every year things such as the fireworks, live music, a lot of food and everyone from the area that could show up.
There was a bit of awkwardness around some of the people though, I'm not 100% sure what was the reason for all of the awkwardness. Well, I know why it was awkward with a few of the people, but that is best left unsaid.
Anyway, I had best be going as at my last check up the doctor told me that I will need as much rest and relaxation as possible. With this household, in this neighborhood, that may be a bit of a problem.

Brenda and FML
Well, to start this off, the flu has finally finished its way through my household. Thank goodness. Those poor maids were kept way too busy with all the laundry that needed to be done and redone.
Now onto the interesting stuff. Apparently, my one normal daughter isn't normal anymore. Bertha wants to be called Brenda now. Though, I'm not too worried about that just yet because I heard rumors that there is a person selling children drugs. Can you believe it? I certainly can't but just in case, I had the talk with Bertha. I know that my other daughters wouldn't take drugs because they all aspire to become cheerleaders and cheerleaders don't do drugs. Bertha, on the other hand, doesn't want to be a cheerleader.
So I sat Bertha down and I talked to her about drugs. I said, "Bertha, if anyone is ever talking to you about FML, just say no. FML is not something that you want." I think that I really got through to her. But, just in case, I think that I'll get Michael to keep an eye on her for me.
Speaking of Michael, he is going to be looking after Bertha while I go away on my yearly Spa weekend. Normally I would get Rachel, Belinda and Elisabeth to look after the household while I'm away, but I figured that this year, we should all go together. Just the four of us. It hasn't been just the four of us since Elizabeth was three and Aurora and Ariel were born. I am very much looking forward to this trip.
Something else I'm looking forward to is Founders Day. I've already sent out the invitations to my annual dinner party. This year they're edible. Esmerelda is taking a chocolatier course and wanted to make the invitations. Needless to say, we all got to eat her rejects.
Anyway, I think that I've taken up enough of your time and I have a dinner party to finish planning.

Flu Season and Games
I am terribly sorry about the last post being so short. Melanie decided that she needed to throw up and as she is only three, there is no rushing to the bathroom or to a bucket. Poor Mary-Beth, she is one of our maids (we have one for each wing). She has had to do laundry seven times today.
Now, onto the reason for this post. I have recently heard of a new game called Dan the Hunter. I've been trying to find out what it's about, but all I can gather is that the person who plays the game becomes Dan and hunts wildlife. Now, Bertha is very interested in hunting and trapping (her grandfather got her into it) and so I was thinking that if Michael really wants to teach Bertha how to play, it couldn't really harm her.
Oh, there she goes again. Hopefully in a few days, the flu will have worked its way through the entire family.
